Travel Notes: Paris (Part Deux)

A quick guide to all the things you want to know about Paris from where to get a nightcap to where to go for a tasting menu that won't break the bank!

I keep finding myself in Paris in August, the one month out of the year when everyone leaves for holiday—meaning a LOT is closed. On one hand, it’s a less crowded time of year to visit, but on the other hand, you might as well forget that restaurant list you’ve been saving—only one of our picks was open. Be sure to check out my list of places from the last time we were in Paris in August, as we revisited quite a few of those. Then scroll down for my updated guide—no matter what time of year you find yourself there.

Where to stay: Hotel Bachaumont

Where to find the best wine bars: Rue Montorgueil

What to bring home as gifts: French pharmacy products like my favorite Bioderma Sensibio H2O WaterEmbryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré, Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk, Avene Trixera Plus Selectiose Emollient Cream

Where to have Neopolitan pizza in a trendy setting (lines around the block): Popolare

A clothing store not to miss (unless it’s August): Sezane

Where to find beautiful cafes and shopping: the Marais

Where to have a fabulous tasting menu dinner that won’t break the bank: Le Chateaubriand

Where to shop for French brands cheaper than in the U.S.: Maje, Iro

Where to have the fanciest €30 cocktail ever + mini hotdogs: Bar Hemingway at the Ritz Paris

Where to get a nightcap: Prescription Cocktail Club

These Paris posts tug so much at my heart….I’ll tell you why when I finally get to see you when (and if!) I can finally walk again. And if and when I make it back to Paris, I’ll be showing you photos too, which won’t look nearly as stunningly, perfectly gorgeous as these.
