After fifteen years, I’m finally committing.
To the grand city I call home, Los Angeles. And to my husband of 10 years last month (!!!). We are closing this week on our first home, which is both terrifying and exhilirating all at once. If all goes according to plan, we’ll be starting massive renovations next week (say a little prayer for me?). I can remember being 22, making minimum wage as a shop girl in Brentwood thinking to myself, when I buy my first home in L.A., I will know I have arrived. Ha! Funny how your perspective changes. I don’t feel like I have arrived. Just as I don’t feel a day older. Well, anyway, here we are. All grown up.
Here’s a little peek into the neighborhood that has my heart…Hancock Park. To me, it has always felt a little bit like the east coast plopped down in the middle of Hollywood. We have big trees that overhang the streets, desperately trying to change color. Street lamps that light up at dusk. AND it’s home to the British Consuls-General (Yes, the Duke & Dutchess of Cambridge stayed in my neighborhood on their visit to the States, of course!). We also have architecture. Perhaps the only architecture I find worthy in this sprawling city. Looks like we’re here to stay…at least for what will certainly feel like only a moment longer.
Just throwing it out there that I’d like this to be my NEXT home ;). You have to have GOALS, don’t you think?
